To improve performance, version 5.0 includes hybrid hash join, which includes full sub-join recursion, role reversal, and bit filtering and Continually Adaptive Indexing, which extends Red Brick's TARGETindex technology to provide indexes that automatically and continually adapt to the data that is being indexed. Version 5.0 automatically selects the optimal index type on a per-value, not per-index, basis.
